Serving Longview since 2020
Ronnie Esposito and Krupal Patel
About
Scottie's Bistro opened on East Hawkins Parkway in 2020, about a month before pandemic shutdowns, and drew crowds back to its patio as soon as reopening was allowed after a stretch of curbside and takeout. Chef and co-owner Ronnie Esposito was raised in an Italian household in New York and worked at The Garden City Hotel's five-star restaurant on Long Island — which he calls the place that really molded him — along with Tavern on the Green, the Oyster Bar and the New York Yankees Steak House, and he opened The Mussel Pot in Greenwich Village.
The concept is deliberately multicultural and rotating. As Esposito puts it, "I don't cook one cuisine; I cook them all." Co-owner Krupal Patel, who also owns Menchie's Yogurt and Scotties 2.0, says that fits his concept exactly, since Esposito does not like cooking the same thing every day. Dishes that have made their name include a lobster roll that sells out every time it is on the menu, chicken tikka masala soup, pulled pork poutine, black truffle buffalo wings, a Nashville hot chicken sandwich and freshly baked naan. Esposito buys meats from Skinner's Grocery in Longview and shops local farmers markets.
