About
Partners in Prevention is a City of Longview program with offices at 140 East Tyler Street, Suite 400, focused on youth and community initiatives. Its programs are listed publicly through the Greater Longview United Way resource directory and on the City of Longview website, and office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Named programs include the Youth Action Committee, a Unity and Diversity Committee, Longview Bridges Out of Poverty and the mentoring programs Forever Friends and Friends of Partners in Prevention. The mentoring work pairs adult volunteers with local students, and some of that activity runs during school hours as well as evenings and weekends. Bridges Out of Poverty programming is oriented toward family support and community education. For adults who have thought about mentoring a kid in Longview but never knew where to sign up, this is the office that handles it. Call for current openings, training requirements and which programs are actively enrolling.
