Panaderia y Pasteleria El Chatito

El Chatito is a South High Street panaderia and pasteleria baking Mexican sweet breads and taking orders for custom cakes. The shop posts its daily offerings and specials on its Facebook page, which is where a lot of Longview customers first find out what came out of the oven that morning. Being both a panaderia and a pasteleria means the shop covers two jobs at once. On the bread side there are conchas, bolillos and the rest of the everyday lineup. On the cake side it handles the birthdays, quinceañeras, baptisms and graduations that fill up an East Texas calendar, with decorated cakes made to order. It is a small, family-run kind of operation on the south side of town, the sort of place worth knowing about if you need a cake on short notice or just want fresh sweet bread without driving across the loop.
