Longview Economic Development Corporation

LEDCO was created by Longview voters in 1991 under the Development Act of 1979 for a specific purpose: creating and retaining primary jobs. It manages economic development for the City of Longview and serves as the central information source for development across the city, Gregg County, and the surrounding region. Its independent board has five voting and five non-voting members appointed by the mayor and city council. The staff works with both local companies looking to expand and outside businesses considering a move, coordinating with site selection consultants, developers, realtors, and property owners. LEDCO cultivates partnerships with more than 20 regional groups and owns two investment-ready business parks totaling roughly 1,200 acres with interstate and highway access. It also handles business retention and expansion, workforce development connections, and incentive questions.
