Longview Christian Academy

Longview Christian Academy has been part of Longview since 1973, operating as the private school ministry of Emmanuel Baptist Church on West Loop 281. The academy serves students from kindergarten through twelfth grade in a conventional, traditional education program, and it has used the Abeka curriculum for more than 30 years, approaching each subject through a biblical worldview. The school states that its purpose is providing Christian education for families who are faithful members of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and that all of its teachers are born-again Christians called to the teaching ministry. Students in grades seven through twelve compete as the Eagles — six-man flag football and volleyball in the fall, basketball and volleyball in the spring — with games streamed on the school's Facebook page. Parents can pull the school calendar, the parent and student handbook, and supply lists straight off the site. The affiliated church traces back to 1960, when it was founded as Longview Baptist Temple.
