Longview Child Development Center

Longview Child Development Center has served income-eligible Longview families for more than 40 years, providing educational opportunities and child care in a safe, loving environment. The center sums up its own mission in three words: where hope grows. LCDC operates inside Ware Elementary at 601 W. Garfield Street and is a partner agency of the Greater Longview United Way. According to the center, its teachers exceed minimum training requirements and maintain the qualifications required by federal and state standards, and class sizes meet the teacher-child ratios set by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and Child Care Services. LCDC serves U.S.D.A.-approved meals, including breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack, and provides infant formula and baby food. It also collaborates with community agencies to connect children, parents, and families with additional support.
