Longview Ballet Theatre

Longview Ballet Theatre is a nonprofit ballet company and school in Longview, founded by Pat George Mitchell, who has spent decades building a classical dance program in East Texas. The company performs at the S.E. Belcher Chapel and Performance Center on the LeTourneau University campus and has passed the fifty-year mark. Mitchell has choreographed more than one hundred original ballets and has brought professional guest dancers to Longview stages over the years, on the premise that ballet should be accessible to everyone rather than reserved for big cities. Generations of local dancers have come through the studio on North Third Street, and the annual performance calendar is a fixture for a lot of Longview families. As a public charity, the theatre depends on ticket sales, tuition and community support to keep productions on stage and training available to area kids. Class schedules and performance dates are posted on the company website and on its Facebook and Instagram pages, and the Belcher Center lists ticketed performances as they are scheduled.
