Lil Thai House

Lil Thai House is a small Thai restaurant on North Fredonia Street downtown, open for lunch on weekdays. Texas Monthly gives it three stars — very good — in its Dining Guide and sums it up as "fresh, delicious, and unquestionably authentic," calling it a favorite tiny downtown lunch spot. Will Ruegg runs the front of house and his wife Puktra runs the kitchen. Texas Monthly's recommended orders are the drunken fried rice, spicy and basil-inflected; pad see ew with wide rice noodles in sweet dark soy; and the Wes noodles with beef and oyster mushrooms. Beer and wine are served. Note that the restaurant's former website no longer resolves, and a site appearing high in search results states plainly that it is not the official page — call the restaurant directly to confirm hours.
