LeTourneau University

LeTourneau University is a private Christian polytechnic university on a 162-acre residential campus at 2100 South Mobberly Avenue in Longview. The state of Texas chartered LeTourneau Technical Institute of Texas in February 1946 and classes began that April, making LETU one of Longview's oldest continuously operating institutions. The university is best known regionally for its aviation and engineering programs, and it says it offers more than 140 undergraduate and graduate degree programs delivered both online and on the Longview campus. Total enrollment runs around 3,500 students drawn from across the country and abroad. The campus is a real presence on the south side of town: its flight operations, athletics and public events bring steady traffic through, and the university is a significant local employer.
