Gregg County Master Gardeners

Gregg County Master Gardeners is the volunteer program organized through the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Longview at 405 East Marshall Avenue, Suite 101. Volunteers complete Extension horticulture training and then give the time back through public gardening education and hands-on community projects around Gregg County. Their fingerprints are all over town. Master Gardeners help maintain the J.R. Curtis Jr. Memorial Garden on West Cotton Street and beds at the Longview Arboretum and Nature Center, and they tend a community garden started in 2009 that grows produce for elderly and homebound neighbors. The group also offers gardening classes open to the public and awards scholarships to graduating seniors. In early 2025 the Extension office added a greenhouse for the volunteers to use.
