Gregg County Historical Museum

The Gregg County Historical Museum sits in the historic Everett Building in downtown Longview and tells the story of Gregg County through exhibits that run year-round. Displays include a military collection, the Dalton Gang exhibit, Conquering the Seas, and the interactive Kids Zone children's exhibit. The museum also puts on annual events such as Dalton Days, Black History Month programming, and Landmarks of Longview, along with a summer lecture series and seasonal programs. Beyond the galleries, the museum maintains an archive that includes an oral history library and recorded lectures, plus its own YouTube channel with videos on Landmarks of Longview, Women in the War Effort, the holiday model train display, and tours of Greenwood and Grace Hill cemeteries. Education programs include Tiny Thinkers, Cub Club, traveling trunks, and field trips. Visitors are welcome Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the museum closed Sunday, Monday, and holidays. Admission listed on its site is $5 regular, $2 for seniors, $1 for school-aged children 18 and younger, and free for members.
