ETCADA - East Texas Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse

A Longview-based nonprofit that has been at this work for a long time. ETCADA states on its own site that it is a 501(c)3 organization providing education, youth prevention programs, information resources and services to prevent alcohol and drug use and misuse, and that its services are offered at no charge to the community. The site lists 66 years of service and a reach of more than 1.7 million people. Its 23-county service area covers Gregg County and neighbors including Harrison, Rusk, Upshur, Smith, Wood, Panola and Marion, with prevention work in 13 school districts across 24 campuses. Programs include a Prevention Resource Center, intervention and recovery services with recovery groups, naloxone awareness, youth services and offender education classes. Funding partners listed publicly include Texas Health and Human Services, Texas Workforce Solutions, ETCOG, BeWell and Greater Longview United Way. The office sits at 708 Glencrest Lane and is open weekdays 8 to 5. Juanita Fail serves as Executive Director.
