About
Bruce's Custom Upholstery works out of a shop on East U.S. Highway 80 northeast of Longview, and it covers both sides of the trade — automotive seat covers, tops and upholstery, plus general upholstery work. Local directory listings credit the business with more than three decades in operation.
Upholstery is one of the last genuinely handmade trades left in the car world. A split seam in a truck seat, a sagging headliner, a convertible top that has finally given up, or a set of door panels that no longer match anything else in the interior are all problems no parts catalog solves. Somebody has to measure, cut, sew and fit it, and the same skills carry straight over to furniture, boat seats and shop chairs. Hours are listed as Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Call ahead to talk material options and get eyes on the job before you drop anything off.
