About
Lear Park is Longview's big regional sports complex — 182 acres off H. G. Mosley Parkway with fields, trails and a splash pad. If you have a kid in youth sports around here, you already know it. The complex holds softball fields, baseball fields and a large bank of soccer fields that host league play and weekend tournaments, and it draws teams and families in from across East Texas.
Beyond the fields, the park lists a walking trail, a fishing pier, the KidsView Playground and the Jack M. Mann Splash Pad. The city assembled the land between 1997 and 2005 and built the complex out in five phases; the fifth phase was funded through the 2018 bond election and finished in 2021. The splash pad opened in 2014 and the Miracle League Field, built for athletes with disabilities, opened in 2017. Parks are open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. unless posted otherwise, and field reservations and rental questions go through the Longview Parks and Recreation Department.
