About

A City of Longview recreation center on Martin Luther King Boulevard that packs a remarkable amount into one building. Broughton Recreation Center has a large double gym for basketball and volleyball, a weight room and cardio area, pickleball, table tennis, a pool table, air hockey and foosball, plus a library branch, computer lab and classroom space. The pricing is the headline. A universal annual pass covering Broughton, Paula Martin Jones and Green Street rec centers runs $90 for a family or $50 for an adult, and it is free for anyone 17 and under, with monthly adult passes at $5. Programming includes youth basketball leagues, aerobics classes, billiards and a summer camp. Hours are Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday until 6, and Saturday noon to 5, closed Sunday. For a lot of Longview families this building is the neighborhood gym, the after-school spot and the library all at once. Current rates and schedules are posted on the city website.
